UF ENERGY SOCIAL SERIES
In preparation for the construction of a new central energy plant at the University of Florida, I created a series of social graphics to post to their social media pages as their digital media intern.
Our goal for these post leading to the announcement of the Central Energy plant was to prime the public for the construction in a positive way.
The current student population at UF was not in-tune with the infrastructure that is in place on the university's campus, and all of the behind-the-scenes utilities that must be updated and maintained for the campus to function.

To begin educating the student body on the importance of this infrastructure, I first drafted simple informative posts about campus statistics.
UF has pre-existing branding guidelines to follow. I incorporated and updated their fonts and color palettes across all of my posts to create a cohesive overall social media page overall.
Continuing with the informative approach, I made a post details the water systems on UF's campus.
Next we shifted into explaining key concepts surrounding the Central Energy Plant. The first was by introducing where UF received its energy from, which was mostly Duke Energy.
We still wanted to remain mainly informative at this point, but introduce the idea that being self-sufficient in terms of energy and distancing the campus from Duke's high-price energy would be more favorable.
Finally, I created a post introducing cogeneration - a method of producing energy that reduces wasted energy. UF's energy plant was intended to be one of such facilities.
By explaining the importance of sustainability and decreasing waste, we explained a simplified process of how cogeneration works. Later, when the energy plant would be announced, the preparatory information we posted positioned the school's large construction plan to be received positively.
